The KWH Group is an Ostrobothnian family-owned company which manufactures and markets abrasives and water traps as well as offers frozen storage, freight forwarding and logistics services. It operates as four divisions. Mirka is specialized in abrasives, KWH Logistics offers logistic services, KWH Freeze offers frozen storage and KWH Invest consist of strategic holdings and Prevex that manufactures water traps.

Abrasives

Mirka manufactures and markets net, paper, cloth, foam, and non-woven-based abrasives, sanding and polishing machines and polishing compounds for different types of surface finishing processes.

KWH Logistics

Logistics Services

KWH Logistics operate in the whole of Finland in the fields of port operations, freight forwarding, international transports, industrial services, cold storage and complete logistics solutions. It has ten independent subsidiaries.

KWH Freeze

Frozen Storage

KWH Freeze is Finland’s largest actor in frozen food storage. It stores and handles frozen food for their customers, and rents space to customers who handle their goods themselves.

Mirka has inaugurated its first production facility outside Europe. Located in Indianapolis, Indiana, the new unit strengthens Mirka’s presence in the strategically important North American market and marks a major milestone in the company’s global growth journey.

The Story of KWH Group

As a business, the KWH Group goes right back to the 1920s and 30s. The Group proper was formed in 1980s, when Oy Keppo Ab acquired half of Oy Wiik & Höglund Ab’s shares held by the Wiik family. Emil Höglund had been involved in the foundation of both companies thus, their managements felt a strong sense of solidarity despite their different operating areas.
