SHAPE programme led by Mirka receives funding extension until 2030
Business Finland has granted continued funding for the SHAPE programme led by Mirka and the ecosystem built around it through 2030.
SHAPE brings together Finnish companies, universities, and research institutes to develop sustainable materials, circular economy solutions, and new manufacturing models. The programme aims to reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing while supporting a competitive and sustainable industrial sector.
With the extended funding, SHAPE will move into its next phase, focusing on scaling solutions for industrial use. Key objectives include ensuring the availability of sustainable materials at industrial scale and advancing remanufacturing and refurbishment processes through digitalisation, robotics, and automation. The growing network of partners will also support the development of new innovations to address the evolving needs of the manufacturing industry.
