A huge harbour crane to Blomberg Stevedoring in Vaasa

Oy Blomberg Stevedoring Ab, part of the KWH Logistics business division, has acquired a crane with a lifting capacity of 208 tonnes to the Port of Vaskiluoto in Vaasa. The crane s one of the largest harbour cranes in Finland and at the same time in the northern Baltic Sea. The value of the acquisition is approximately EUR 7 million.

With the acquisition of this crane, the capacity of the lifting operations performed in the Port of Vaasa is doubled. As a tandem lift with Blomberg’s second crane, loads of up to almost 300 tons can be lifted.

The newly built heavy Liebherr LHM 600 harbour crane is manufactured in Germany by Liebherr-MCCtec Rostock GmbH, and it was delivered to Vaasa just a little before Christmas. After delivery, Blomberg Stevedoring has three heavy Liebherr harbour cranes in Vaasa.

Blomberg Stevedoring handles different types of project goods in the Port of Vaasa. The crane serves especially the heavy industry and other export and import customers who need demanding port handlings, such as importers of wind power components.
