A Book published to mark KWH Freeze’s Anniversary Year
KWH Freeze, the largest operator in the cold storage sector in Finland, celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2025. To mark the occasion, stories from the company’s 60 year journey were brought together in a single volume.
KWH Freeze began its operations in Inkoo in 1965 under the name Etelän Jää – Söder Is. The aim was to ensure the availability of feed for mink farms in Ostrobothnia. Over time, the company’s customer base expanded to increasingly cover the food industry, and the company relocated to Vantaa, closer to its customers.
In the 1980s, the company was renamed KWH Freeze when the KWH Group became its sole owner. Over the course of the company’s history, the importance and volume of frozen food products in Finland have multiplied, as have the company’s storage facilities. Finland’s accession to the European Union accelerated this development. Today, the company is the largest operator in the cold storage sector in Finland.

The book contains many interesting stories from different periods over the years. You can read the book in PDF format in Swedish or Finnish or order your own bilingual printed copy by contacting info@kwhgroup.com.
